Epsiode 5 - A transfer window to save our season?

Image
So we swiftly move into January with the key aim being to look to improve not only results. but the squad depth and quality at the same time but before we can get anyone in we have a game on new years day away at Bournemouth Another away day battering and the team looks bereft of confidence we need to improve URGENTLY as the board are now starting to get unsettled with my leadership Thankfully i did manage to get 1 transfer through before the next game in the FA cup which was a kind draw against Colchester at home...  Welcome Lovro Majer This is a player i had tried to sign in the summer but couldnt agree terms on a contract as he had only recently joined Dinamo Thankfully, after a blinding start to life in Croatia we still managed to nab him for 6.75 million (rising to 7.75 million on bonuses) which i think personally is an absolute steal for a player already on a par with sigurdsson at 20 years old and with one in, we send one player away Mcc

Episode 4 - A not so festive period

Image
So we move into the Festive period  and we have a raft of games that are, in my opinion, going to define our season it's always a tough month that requires a lot of rotation, and with a small list of injuries to key players, we could struggle up first, Cardiff at home A terrible result in all realism Leading twice and drawing 3-3 at home to the team stuck firmly to the foot of the table is a bad result and we need a dramatic improvement if we are to get anything away at Anfield for the first derby of the season The less said about this the better Another loss this time at home to chelsea we battled well but were outclassed all over the park this squad is starting to look massively lacking in quality in key areas, something we will have to address in January i feel. A 3-0 away win is a bonus in a terrible month Sigurdsson dragged us through this game and showed his value 10 times over in this game the striker situation is seem

Episode 3 - Away day woes, But Goodison is a fortress

Image
We move into October and need to turn our results around away from Goodison if we are to move up the table and towards the Europa league places. With Southampton, Watford and Fulham all away on the next 2 months, we should be looking to improve on last months showings at the Etihad and Old Trafford But first, a home game against struggling Huddersfield A win, another clean sheet and a MOM for Mina I tried something a bit different and started Walcott through the middle and it worked a treat adding some mobility to the top end of the pitch A red card for Digne isn't ideal though and we will miss him in the next game Back to back away games either side of an international break see us ship another 5 goals and pick up no points, Watford are doing well and are in the top 6 but these are games we need to be picking up points from if we are to breach the European places. A really strong win at home against spurs gets some momentum back and yet an

Episode 2 - A rocky start

Image
And so the season is under way with only a few niggling injuries in the squad we move into the season at nearly full strength The line-up ill be starting the season with is as follows. With only coleman out we have nearly our strongest team to select from, however, Gomes mina and sigurdsson have all had knocks so won't be match fit for week one. we came up against a strong united team and Lukaku came back to haunt us Gomes, Sigurdsson and Coleman should make a big difference going forward though And they do we record a good win at home and a clean sheet to get our points tally up and running . This injury effectively rules Zouma out for the entire loan spell and is a horrid blow so early on in the season Thank god we got Rojo in as cover or we would be struggling The games come quickly and we soon find ourselves at the end of september...  . By the end of september we have won 3 home but lost all 3 away games in the league Sco

Episode 1 - Evaluating the squad / Pre Season

And so i begin this story My aim of taking Everton to the top of the World Club Rankings immediately seems a lot further away than i thought. However, as any Evertonian will tell you, Nil Satis Nisi Optimum let's remember that. Taking charge I am greeted by Farhad Moshiri who tells me he expects a top half finish, and decent cup runs getting to quarter finals in both the FA and Carabao cups these seem more than achieveable with what players we have, and with only £4 million in the transfer fund with not much spare for wages, we will have to clear some space in the already bloated squad and recoup some money before we can sign anyone who will truly improve the first team. first things first i wanted to appoint my own assistant manager to put a stamp on my reign. i wanted to get someone with top level and international experience, someone i could rely on to keep morale high. I opted for Marco Van Basten With more experience than 99% in the world
